The Philadelphia based Johnny Cash Tribute band MAN IN BLACK will hold a benefit concert to raise money for the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation at Fergie’s Pub, 1214 Sansom St., Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, August 12 at 10:00 PM, along with special guest Jason Paul Elder. Organized by Team Bury the Dragon, the event will help fundraise for the C4L in Salt Lake City in September.

Each year, ovarian cancer claims more than 16,000 women, and 25,500 are diagnosed; it is the fourth leading cause of
death among U.S. women. Sadly, research into ovarian cancer is woefully inadequate, lagging years behind that of
breast cancer and prostate cancer.

Ovarian cancer survivor Sean Patrick founded the HERA (Health, Empowerment, Research and Awareness) Women’s Cancer Foundation four years ago to bring much-needed attention and money to the disease. The aims of HERA are simple:
bq. To encourage ovarian cancer research,
bq. To prevent needless death by raising awareness (allowing for earlier diagnosis), and
bq. To fund research into a reliable early-detection method and more effective treatment.

Eighty-five percent of the profits from this all-volunteer organization go directly to research and programs
The HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation is a 5013c charitable organization. All donations are tax deductible to
the full extent allowed by law.

100 percent of the proceeds of the benefit concert will go directly to HERA. A cover of $5.00 will be charged at the door.
There will also be drink specials and a raffle of items donated by local businesses within the city of Philadelphia.

Fergie’s Pub has a long standing tradition of supporting major humanitarian causes, and is proud to host the MAN IN BLACK HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation benefit concert on August 12, 2006. Last summer, MAN IN BLACK helped to raise over $100,000.00 to fund a private, US based expedition to Aruba in search of missing Alabama teenager, Natalee Holloway through a concert held at Fergie’s.
