The information for this great event was passed on to me from a friend. Please take the time to read over and participate in any way you can. A simple donation will do.
Dear Friends and Family,
We have all been touched by cancer. We have seen members of our family struggle to fight against cancer. It is amazing how many wives, husbands, daughters, sons, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, and grandfathers are affected by this disease. Statistics indicate three out of four families will help care for a family member with cancer. Hopefully with advances in research, suffering and struggle can be reduced. We want to do what we can to help reduce cancer’s impact on all of us!
Outdoor adventures have been a part of our family for many years now. These events have provided a great opportunity for togetherness where we can challenge ourselves while creating memories and sharing laughs.
On June 24, 2006 Jeff will participate in the Climb for Cancer Foundation’s 50-50-1, a national mountain climbing event that will bring teams of Americans together to fight cancer while climbing to the highest point of every state on the same day. He will be leading a team climbing Washington State’s Mt. Rainier. Each team will raise money for the Climb for Cancer Foundation. 50-50-1 stands for 50 states, 50 peaks, one goal – to see the
end of cancer.
The Climb for Cancer Foundation hopes to make a tangible impact on the lives of those affected by cancer, whether it is through research funded in part by the Foundation, giving children an opportunity to attend Camp Sunshine, a camp for children with cancer, or alleviating some of the financial burden
patients and their families face when they must travel to obtain proper cancer treatment. The Foundation likes to think that their small gifts fill in the cracks left behind by organizations that make much larger gifts. Click here to learn more about the Foundation.
Please join us in the event by pledging your support of our participation in this nationwide climb. Tax deductible donations can be made through the www.50-50-1.com website. To pledge support for Jeff, go to his team’s page by clicking here.
From the web page click “I’m not able to participate but would like to donate” and then follow the steps to make a secure donation using your credit card.
Alternatively you may write a check for your tax deductible donation, made out to “Climb For Cancer Foundation” and mail it to: Climb for Cancer Foundation, 5745 SW 75th Street #317, Gainesville, FL 32608 with a note on the memo line regarding who you are supporting.
Thank you for your time and support of the fight against cancer.
Sincerely,
Jeff Lamoureux and Deb Robertson
