I am currently writing from Scottsdale, Arizona. Not really one of my favorite places on earth. My cousin is getting married here. I must admit that family has been the ONLY reason I have come to this city in the past. The traffic, the heat, the air-conditioned malls and the assumingly LACK of any outdoor space pretty much keep me away.
Well, when I woke up yesterday morning in the Tetons to 37-degree temps and 5 inches of the snow on the ground I was for the first time in years admittedly excited to get to the warmer temps of Phoenix. Touch down in Phoenix yesterday received me with comfortably warm temps and sun. Okay…this won’t be so bad! After a bite to eat and a glass of wine with the bride to be I smiled as I put on a tank top and flip-flops…yes, things are still okay.
Sometimes life gets crazy and we forget to stop and appreciate the people we have around us. Tobias Anthony Blanck was an extraordinary man. Always full of smiles and energy that I have never seen before. We just held a memorial in Hood River, OR for our friend Toby who was taken from us way too early. This weekend was full of love, laughs, memories & friendship. Here’s a Black Butte Porter to you Toby!
Dance like nobody is watching, love like you’ll never get hurt, sing like nobody is looking, live like its heaven on earth and speak from the heart to be heard. -William W. Rurkey

Up to my eyeballs in wedding planning, my friend (who is married) sent me this little fairytale. Thought I would pass it on. Enjoy!
World’s Shortest Fairytale
Once upon a time a guy asked a girl, “Will you marry me?” The girl said “No” and she lived happily ever after and went shopping, drank martinis with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had a closetfull of shoes and handbags, stayed skinny, and was never farted on.
The End
Thanks Kirsten!
