(Patagonia, Chile)Our goal was to spend a month in Patagonia, going out on the southern ice cap to ski a range in the middle of the ice cap know as the Cordon Mariano Moreno. The one thing we were told the most is that the weather down there is unpredictable. After our journey, I can confirm that indeed the weather is very unpredictable, and luck didn’t work in our favor for giving us enough good weather to achieve our goal.
It is amazing how quickly you can go from the chaos of work, dogs, life, etc to sitting on a beach in the carribean…ah air travel. It took 2 days with 11 legsd of travel for us to get from frigid Victor, ID to an 87 degree beach on St. Johns, BVI. These legs consisted of 4 flights, a ferry ride and the rest in taxi rides. Once we arrived at Cinnamon Bay Campground on St. Johns it took no time at all to start the relaxation!
When my husband came back home to Victor, Idaho last fall (2006) with a 20’ Balboa Sailboat, all of the neighbors thought we were crazy. We were bundled up in our down jackets drinking Margarita’s on the deck…while it was snowing. Scott has been obsessed with sailing since we started dating 6 years ago. He had been on a couple of small sailing adventures with some friends but never did any of his own. SO….why not buy a small boat and teach ourselves?
