Everyone loves a cool, orange creamsicle in the summer!! That is how I feel when riding the 2006 Orbea Dama Race. This is Orbea’s high performance women’s road bike. Aside from the fabulous option of orange and white, creamsicle design, the performance of this bike is outrageous. I have been a Dama Racer for the past two years and when Orbea released the Lobular version of this frame I knew that I was in for a real treat. Orbea does a great job in describing the Dama Race:
This does not mean ditch the sunscreen entirely and make a practice of lying out. We would like to thank Pennie Schwartz from Schwartz Family Chiropractic in Long Island, New York for this guest blog.
Insufficient sunlight may increase your chances of getting cancer.
Natural sunlight is necessary for good health. It contains ultraviolate rays that our body needs to create the vitamin D we need. Milk and most supplements contain synthetic vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) that is not nearly as good as natural vitamin D from sunlight or cod liver oil.
I’m glad to know that I am not the only one who wants to pull my hair out when people leave their cars idling while running errands. Even worse are those who leave the car running with the air conditioner on while they eat lunch to keep the car cool. COME ON PEOPLE!! Check out the following links to learn more about car idling and the impact on our environment.
Turn It Off Already This shop is not kidding around.
The information for this great event was passed on to me from a friend. Please take the time to read over and participate in any way you can. A simple donation will do.
Dear Friends and Family,
We have all been touched by cancer. We have seen members of our family struggle to fight against cancer. It is amazing how many wives, husbands, daughters, sons, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, and grandfathers are affected by this disease. Statistics indicate three out of four families will help care for a family member with cancer. Hopefully with advances in research, suffering and struggle can be reduced. We want to do what we can to help reduce cancer’s impact on all of us!
All of our love and best energy here at womenspecific.com goes out to the families and friends of Sue Nott and Karen McNeill. Their hearts and souls will always be remembered.
RICHMOND, Calif. (June 13, 2006) After an exhaustive nine day search on Mt. Foraker, Alaska of the Infinite Spur Route and surrounding area, there is still no sign of Sue Nott and Karen McNeill. The families and many friends of the two respected mountaineers are organizing memorial services to remember and honor the women. A Celebration of Life for Sue Nott will be held at the Ford Amphitheater in Vail, Colorado on Sunday, June 18, at 1:00 PM. A service for Karen McNeill is being planned for next week in Canmore, Alberta.
Okay, okay, so they say a glass of chocolate milk rather than a milkshake…BUT isn’t all the same? After a great 50 mile road ride yesterday we ran in to our local soda shop and grabbed a couple of chocolate shakes….purely to test this theory of recovery without all of the fancy drinks (not because we were craving a cold, chocolate milk shake).
Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not spend a weekend with the ladies? Pack up and take a road trip to Boulder, Colorado for the Goddesses on the Rocks.
When: June 10-11
Where: Boulder, Colorado
What other reason do you need to ride your road bike 72 miles in a head wind for four hours other than….BEER FESTIVAL? This past Saturday I was invited to participate in the Annual Snake River Brewing Brewers’ Ride to Idaho Falls, Idaho for the 12th Annual Mountain Brewers’ Beer Fest. Still can’t decide if I was lucky or stupid.
As I go into my birthday weekend I can only see the dust bunnies, the shedded hair of my dogs, and the pile of clean laundry that needs to be put away. The weather is amazing here in the Tetons and all I want to do is go PLAY.
After a tip off from a friend and a pleasant yes nod from my fiance I went ahead and hired Cindy, the amazing cleaning lady, to come and free me of my chores.
